Library

  • History of the Library:

        The school library at Douliou Vocational High School of Home and Economics (Hereafter, TLHC) started the construction in the year of 1983 and inaugurated in September, 1984. The building stands three stories tall and has an area of 1848 square meters.

The building plan is as follows:

On the first floor are the Newspapers Room and the Book Stack/Current Periodicals Room; on the second floor are the Reading Room and theTeachers Resource Center; on the third floor are two Multimedia Centers, one for public use and the other for self-study only.

In 1995, automatic software and hardware equipment, adopting Tien-Tu Library Database Management System, was purchased.

        Three part-time students assist in the cleanliness of the building, check-in and check-out of books, and book shelving.

 

  • Services: (Mainly reserved for school staff and registered students)

1.      Browsing.

2.      Checking in and checking out books.

3.      Looking up online public catalogue.

4.      Tutoring in the use of academic network.

5.      Instructing the use of data and documents.

6.      Organizing yearly school-wide arts and literature contests.

7.      Displaying and editing the catalogue of new books.

8.      Assisting in the obtaining the ID card to the access of National Dunlin University of Science of Technology library and the check-in and check-out services offered.

9.      Purchasing newly-recommended books.

 

  • Collections:

1.      Books:     Over 27,000 volumes.

2.      Non-book:  Tapes, VHS (video-recording media), CD, and DVD.

3.      Others:     128 magazines and journals, and 8 major newspapers.
